- Look for a stairlift that requires no changes to the structure, but rather attaches easily to the staircase. This is helpful for re-sale considerations too.
- Consider weight capacity, especially if the stair lift will be used by more than one person. For example, if this will be installed in a church, condo or office, the weight capacity should be higher.
- How close is it to the wall when folded? If you’re lift is close to the wall, it looks better and leaves more room for movement. This is especially important when the stairwell is narrow.
